River and canal bill of Sonaray Union One of the famous rivers of Sonaray Union is Kharkharia river, Khar Kharia river enters Sonaray union from the north side and flows straight south. Apart from Kharkharia river, there is a big pond in ward no. 01 of Sonaray union called Buri pond. On the west side of the Union Parishad building in Sonara, near the house of former chairman Ashwini Kumar Biswas, there is a large pond called Baman Pond.Besides, the irrigation canal under the Water Development Board started from the junction of Bhabani and went through the inside of Zakir Ganj Bazar to Dinajpur district.
